The long history of this museum, opened in Milan in 1913 after the acquirement of the collection Giulio Sambon, is located in Palazzo Busca.
A dive in the history of music and theatre. Scenes and costumes, portraits and shits of music, musical instruments and stiks belonging to imortant orchestra director of the past, recall the fashion of different times and the tyical "living room" characteristic of the middle class and nobles of that time, immersed in seduction games and cultural discussions.
The pieces admirable in the museum offer a clear view of those histories behind important musical masterpieces, ballets, orchestras. From the famous representation of the ‘700, delightly represented in the engravings of by Marc’Antonio Del Re, to the monumental curtains by Riccardi and Monticelli. Here is represented a population dressed in ancient dresses and costumes, for "dame" with larg gowns and gentlemen, the elegant suites of managers and coreographers. You can also admire posters and panphlets, as also the front page of authograph shits of music. This path is among the most fashinating ever.
This a jurney discovering a world "on scene" and the part behing the scene. There are also splendid portraits of Bellini Rossini and Donizetti, as also famous and refined ballet scenes and miniatures engraved. Beside the oli paintings of 1852 by Angelo Inganni dedicated to the facade of the theatre, the faces of Verdi and Ms Stepponi summer up the guide lines of this epoque, mythic protagonists in a hostory of costume, music and love.
